We’re all born vibrant and full of confidence, but somewhere along the way, societal expectations and life experiences can dim our light. We start hiding parts of ourselves out of shame. I know I definitely did.

And then I hit a turning point.

Eight years ago I was heartbroken, unemployed and booked a one-way ticket to a rainy, albeit beautiful, city I had never been to before — hello Amsterdam! I sweet talked 17 Dutch University students into letting me illegally crash in their dorm thinking I’d be there for a month, maybe two. But 1.5 years later, I was still there. I was mortified. But I turned that embarrassment into empowerment, and voilà—Vanillacooldance was born.

Through Vanillacooldance and this incredible community, I've become my most unapologetically shameless self. And now, it’s your turn.

Fuck societal expectations! Fuck those who try to dim your light! It’s time to reclaim your power and become the curious, confident self you’re meant to be.
